Episode 4: The Feeling of Home

Allison and Alice welcome special guest Julia Whelan to talk about home

To celebrate the release of Allison Larkin’s new novel, Home of the American Circus (out everywhere books are sold on May 6th), Alice and Allison welcome narrator, author, actress, Julia Whelan to the conversation. Julia is the wonderful narrator of Allison Larkin’s The People We Keep, Home of the American Circus, Stay, and Why Can’t I Be You, as well as the founder of Audiobrary, and author of My Oxford Year, Thank You For Listening, and Casanova LLC.

Together, they discuss the feeling of home, why they have left their native homes, and how they found home and community in Northern California, Los Angeles, and the California desert.

Listen here, on Apple Podcasts, or on Audiobrary!

Please, review our podcast and email us at nowthatwethinkaboutit@gmail.com with your stories of leaving your native home, staying in your hometown, or finding community elsewhere.
